Local, Police and Crime Commissioner and Combined Authority Mayoral Elections 2020

On 7 May 2020 there will be Local elections held in Walsall and these will be combined with the West Midlands Combined Aurthority Mayoral Election and West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner Election.

Poll Cards will be hand delivered between 25 March and Monday 6 April showing your polling station.

You are eligible to vote if you are British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen and registered to vote.  The deadline to register is Tuesday 21 April 2020, and you can do so, if you are not already registered , by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

If you would like to apply for a postal vote,  you can download an application form from www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/how-cast-your-vote

The deadline for completed postal vote applications to be received in our office is 5pm on Wednesday 22 April 2020.

The deadline for completed proxy vote applications to be received in our office is 5pm on Wednesday 29 April 2020.

Please note, postal votes are sent out very close to the election, and therefore if you are going to be away, or want your postal vote to be sent abroad, you may wish to consider applying for a proxy vote instead. This is when someone you trust attends your polling station and votes on your behalf. You can find more information here https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/how-cast-your-vote

Electoral Malpractice

If you have concerns regarding electoral malpractice you will be required to complete the reporting form found here.

Please return the completed form to the Returning Officer, Electoral Services Office, Council House, Lichfield Street, Walsall, WS1 1AE.  The Returning Officer will then investigate the complaint and forward to the Police if necessary.
